Hollywood Denies Watchmen Sequel Rumors
A Hollywood source says there will be no Watchmen sequel… at least in movie form!
Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood has what is probably good news for Watchmen fans: there will be no sequel to the Watchmen movie. Of course, rumors broke earlier this week that Dan Didio, editor in chief of DC Comics, has made expanding the Watchmen universe into his pet project. However, according to this source, there are no plans for a movie sequel:
"There is no truth to anything related to a movie sequel. Not a chance by a longshot. With regards to the comics, well, I guess anything is possible. I’ll keep my opinion to myself as to whether it’s a smart idea to do so."
Of course, this doesn’t rule out a comic book sequel, but speculation is now pointing to a spinoff set in the Watchmen universe rather than a direct sequel.

UPDATE: Rich Johnston is pretty peeved, as he
broke the story in the first place, and made it pretty clear that he
was talking about comics, not movies. However, gossip sites have taken
to creating the movie rumor themselves and then debunking the entire
