Something Is Killing The Children #17 – One of the hottest comic series’ on planet earth for 17 issues. This hit series for Boom Studios has been rumored for a Netflix series for a little time now. Whether it happens or not is kind of irrelevant to the point this comic was hot before the rumors hit. So, why is this particular issue on our Hot Picks list? It’s because this issue promises to give a deeper look (the origin) of the main character; Erica Slaughter.
Spawn’s Universe #1 – The best-selling comic in Image Comics history was Spawn #1 back in 1992. Was. This debut comic here has shattered that record. The official beginning of the Spawn Universe will bring an array of new characters, new origins, new stories, and of course a new universe. Speculators will find zero solace in trying to flip a regular cover of the best-selling Image comic of all time due to its availability. What they should and try for are the rarer variants. Superstar creator Todd McFarlane will write the series as various superstar artists will take turns lending their pencil work.
Gamma Flight #1 – This odd-ball team will debut in their own series this Wednesday. Have to admit, it’s a kick-butt name for a comic. The Gamma Flight appearing in this comic series debuted in Immortal Hulk #8 from 2018. The original Gamma Flight first appeared back in 1983’s Alpha Flight #1. Ah, the legend himself, John Byrne, that Alpha Flight series never ever disappoints. Ever. The new release Gamma Flight #1 is written by Al Ewing and drawn by Lan Medina.

Teen Titans Academy #4 – InvestComics called Marvel’s Strange Academy to be a big hit. It was and still is. You’re welcome. DC answered back with their own academy book a few months ago and it faired well but hasn’t quite hit the status of “must-have” just yet. When will the “pop” happen? Well, of course, the main go-to is a major introduction (first appearance). Although first appearances have occurred already in the series, a mysterious figure lurks within these pages and maybe a big reveal of some hot new character? Maybe not. Either way, we’d pay close attention to this series as it progresses because a breakout can occur at any moment.
MFKZ #1 – An adult animated Netflix film will debut in comic book form on Wednesday. Usually, this works the other way around, the comic first, then film. Not this time. Behemoth Entertainment will probably have a hit on their hands.
Artist Rob Liefeld provides fans with two more Deadpool 30th anniversary variant covers. Guardians of The Galaxy #15 and X-Men Legends #4.
Good Luck #1 – New series from Boom Studios. A world gifted with everyone having “luck” but this “bad luck” team. Now they have to save the world. This sounds like a fun ride. Written by Matthew Erman and drawn by Stefano Simeone.
Checkmate #1 – First appearance alert. This debut series is written by superstar writer Brian Michael Bendis and star artist Alex Maleev.

Batman Reptilian #1 – Garth Ennis will write a new Batman story. Yes, please! Liam Sharp will provide the artwork.
Marvel Voices Pride #1 – It’s pride month and Marvel has the goods right here. It’s the first Marvel LBGTQ+ anthology.
Web of Spider-man #2 – The first issue sold out. More of the same here.
Infinite Frontier #1 – Being completely honest (as we always are), whenever the words DC and Mutiverse are in the same sentence, we get very confused. This seems to be an important book regarding DC’s Multiverse stuff, so we’re just giving you a heads up.
Vinyl #1 – New series from Image Comics. Writer Doug Wagner with artists Dave Stewart and Daniel Hillyard.
Wonder Woman Black and Gold #1 – Seems like a new two-colored series is debuting every week with a new DC or Marvel character highlighted. This week it’s the Wonder Woman treatment with black and gold as the color scheme.
