Deadpool #1 arrives with its army of variant covers. That Wolverine one though, ouch. Get ready to meet Death Grip (first appearance), because apparently, the Marvel Universe wasn’t crowded enough with villains who have death in their name. Oh, and what’s a debut Deadpool comic without a Rob Liefeld variant too?  Venom #32 slithers into the mix, introducing a new character, as if the symbiote family tree wasn’t confusing enough. Seriously, it’s getting to the point where we might need a Venomverse family reunion just to keep track of everyone. Marvel releases a Micronauts variant cover for this Venom book. We like and miss them Micronauts. Why didn’t they appear in any of the Ant-Man movies? Miss opportunity there. Our small robot friends first appeared in 1979’s Micronauts #1. Over in the realm of Asgard, The Immortal Thor #9 decides that comic covers are too mainstream and opts for one that breaks, rips, and basically demolishes the fourth wall. And here you were thinking comic collecting was an investment. What would that comic grade if we taped it back together?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sourcebook #2 brings us an April O’Neil we didn’t see coming. Look at her on this cover. Since when did she swap her yellow jumpsuit for… well, a completely different vibe? Guess it’s a good time to be a TMNT fan and an even better time to be April. Think Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam in the 80’s. April is Lisa Lisa on this cover. Diving into the sci-fi genre, Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok bless us with Rook: Exodus #1 from Image Comics. The first appearance of this epic new sci-fi. A variant cover shows the entire cast on it, making that the first appearance cover. We all need another hit sci-fi series to remind us how mundane our reality is. Meanwhile, Johns isn’t done with us yet this Wednesday, as he also presents Redcoat #1, with Bryan Hitch ensuring we stay hooked with visuals that’ll have us pledging allegiance to Image Comics. Spider-Man Shadow Of The Green Goblin #1 turns the clock back to reveal there was a Green Goblin before Norman Osborn. A simple villain origin turned into unnecessary mystery.
