Amazing Spider-Man #39 – It seems as though this has been a long lead-up, but it’s finally here; Gang War. The grooviest part of this first official part of this event is that Spider-Man will assemble his team to counter the “gang”. What will this team look like? Will it be a team that sticks around AFTER the fact? Will there be a team Spider-Man comic in the future? We’ll have to wait and see with all those questions, but for now, enjoy the new team. Also, a Disney 100 variant with a possible first appearance(s) of Disney characters as Marvel heroes and villains. We honestly don’t know if Mickey has already been Cyclops or Donald has been Wolverine (cover below).

This Wednesday we’ll witness Santa Claus in various ways. How about a superhero and a pimp on the covers of Batman Santa Claus Silent Knight #1 and Batman #140? How about as a homicidal manic or a horror demon on the covers of Stuff Of Nightmares Slay Ride #1? Yes, all of this will exist on Wednesday. Click the images or links and see for yourself. The Sentry #1 – Marvel continues their quest to make The Sentry a viable character within their universe. Not that the character isn’t, but it’s not as big as they’d like it to be. We see Marvel wanting the “Superman” status here but falling short every single time. Maybe this time will be it? Could it be that Marvel has finally figured out the secret sauce? What we do know about the new story here is that Marvel will be handing over the original dead Sentry powers to someone else. Who that someone else is is a mystery. The second issue cover shows the heroes in shock as we see the back of the new Sentry. Will the reveal occur in this issue though? Only writer Jason Loo and Luigi Zagaria know that answer right now. We’ll find out on Wednesday.
Shazam! #6 – The first appearance of Shazamite. Written by Mark Waid and art by Dan Mora.
Marvel’s Voices Avengers #1 – There will be some first appearances here.
Thunderbolts #1 – Another Thunderbolts number one comic. How many are we at now? Four maybe? This new series will be written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly. Drawn by Geraldo Borges.
Ranger Academy #3 – The third installment of the new Power Rangers franchise. We’ve explained with the previous two releases that this Power Academy could be the start of something much bigger down the line someday. The Power Rangers franchise brings readers to the academy where you become a Ranger. It’s a new take for a potential “serious” side of the franchise instead of the goofiness of the suits and all. This can go places, stay on top of this.
Venom #28 – Marvel will introduce a new Symbiote. That’s always fun for a hot minute.

As we explained last week, the new Beast World DC Comics event will introduce a whole bunch of new characters. Whether one of these new characters will stick for the long haul will remain to be seen. Two new releases regarding this story will hit; Titans Beast World – Waller Rising #1 and Titans Beast World Tour – Metropolis #1.
Two new Star Wars comics to check out this Wednesday. Star Wars The High Republic Adventures – Phase III #1 from Dark Horse Comics, and an all-new D-Squid springs into action in Star Wars Dark Droids – D-Squad #4.
