Hot NEW Comics This Week 7-2-25.
Another week, another batch of comics that’ll either be forgotten in a dollar bin or suddenly skyrocket in price because a movie announcement hits two years from now. That’s the game. This Wednesday’s lineup isn’t pulling any punches either—it’s packed with chaos, first appearances, final issues, and just enough mystery to keep collectors awake at night wondering if they should grab one copy… or three. You’ve got Deadpool making questionable alliances with Doctor Doom (because trusting Doom always works out), Gwen Stacy reaching cosmic heights right before her book closes, and the Green Goblin dragging his Mephisto-stained past into the spotlight. Meanwhile, Cap’s back with a new #1, Venom’s under siege from every direction, and Gotham’s been invaded by an alien-themed discotheque—because why not?
This week is dripping with speculative potential. Final chapters, new villains, and the kind of creative team shifts that scream “watch this space.” If you collect for the art, the characters, or the what-if value of owning that issue before it heats up—this is your kind of week. Let’s break down what to look for, why it might matter, and what you might regret skipping in a few months when the internet catches up.
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time #4, so Deadpool’s totally rational plan this week? Get god-tier power from none other than… Doctor Doom. Yep, makes sense. Because nothing says “trustworthy magical fixer” like a guy whose hobbies include world domination and monologuing in iron armor. Wade’s healing factor isn’t cutting it anymore, and when you’re hunting multiversal monsters who wipe out entire realities before breakfast, you need a power-up. That’s where Doom—and whatever sketchy deal he’s offering—comes in. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that Deadpool and infinite cosmic power are a terrible idea for everyone involved. Expect multiverse-level chaos, fourth-wall cracks, and one of the most dangerously entertaining issue #4s of the year. Bring on the Bad Guys Green Goblin #1, it’s Norman Osborn’s turn in this line of villain-focused one-shots, and this one goes deep. We’re talking soul-deep. Literally. A brand-new slice of Norman’s sinister history gets cracked open, and—surprise!—it’s connected to Mephisto and the terrifying SOUL FORGE. That’s right: Norman’s already unstable psyche apparently needed more supernatural baggage. As the second installment in this seven-part villain series, this issue teases a much larger and darker story uncoiling behind the scenes. And yes, the first appearance of a new piece of Osborn lore means potential collector heat. If the devil’s involved, odds are the value—and the chaos—are just heating up. All-New Venom #8, Symbiote mayhem continues in this eight-part showdown, and the tension is as high as Eddie Brock’s tolerance for being double-crossed. This issue delivers a full-on symbiote brawl at the Daily Bugle, while Sleeper Agent is off playing escape artist at North Brother Island. But surprise—Doctor Octopus has entered the chat, and he’s not here to negotiate. The war on symbiotes escalates with SCAR’s new ally, and things are not looking good for Team Klyntar. Expect heavy action, unexpected twists, and speculation chatter around Doc Ock’s new alliance. A key issue in a series that continues to throw down with no signs of slowing. Captain America #1, Steve Rogers is back in a #1 issue that aims to redefine what patriotism looks like in the age of shadow warfare and moral gray zones. This new era kicks off with Cap facing down the rise of Victor Von Doom in Latveria—and spoiler: it’s not just about punching robots. This is about who Steve Rogers becomes when the rules change and the old black-and-white world has gone grayscale. Chip Zdarsky writing Cap’s first major encounter with Doctor Doom? Yes, please. Plus, any time there’s a #1 and a “new era,” collectors perk up. One to watch for long-term story shifts and that #1 cover shine. Godzilla vs. Thor #1, what happens when The Hand gives Godzilla the power of The Beast? KRA-KOOM, that’s what. This is the sixth and final chapter of the Marvel/Toho throwdown tour, and it’s a doozy. Thor has to stop a Godzilla now souped up with mystic monster energy from stomping Midgard into cosmic slush. Expect thunder, lightning, dragon breath, and a healthy dose of “what did I just witness?” The series has been a collector’s delight with one-shots that spotlight kaiju-mashing chaos, and this finale looks like it’s going out with an explosion loud enough to shake Asgard.

Spider-Gwen Ghost Spider #15, it’s the final issue, and Gwen’s had enough of King Loki’s cosmic games. With a Cube-powered upgrade and some backup from the TVA, Gwen Stacy is swinging right into a showdown that could unravel everything Loki’s rebuilt. This issue closes out a long arc and tees up whatever’s next for Ghost-Spider, which is always when speculation starts swirling. Will we see her new status quo teased here? New costumes? Power upgrades? Watch this space—final issues often hold hidden gems. Amazing Spider-Man #7, Spider-Man’s got 99 problems, and Hellgate is number one this week. Pete is battling a new villain with unclear motives but devastating abilities—and Manhattan is once again the world’s most endangered island. With Hellgate throwing down, and Peter Parker being the only one standing in the way, this issue has “possible key” written all over it. What does this new enemy really want? Who’s pulling the strings? And how long until MJ texts back? X-Men Hellfire Vigil #1, this is the pulse-check mutant fans have been waiting for since From the Ashes launched. A year after the events of the final Hellfire Gala, the X-Men gather to remember what was lost and to recommit to the fight. This isn’t just a commemorative issue—it’s a tentpole for what’s next. Creators across the current X-line unite to lay the groundwork for the next phase of mutant storytelling. If you care about where the X-books go from here, this is your roadmap. Collectors, take note: full of potential first meetings, new relationships, and that ever-precious mutant continuity. Wolverines & Deadpools #1, two of Marvel’s most chaotic anti-heroes team up—and bring their daughters along. This new #1 mashes together Logan and Wade with Laura Kinney and Ellie Camacho in a story that promises generational trauma, classic X-villains, and a whole lot of sharp claws and sharper comebacks. You’ve got legacy characters, a team-up debut, and a villain worthy of these four maniacs. That’s prime speculation fuel right there. Don’t be surprised if this turns into one of those under-the-radar #1s that blows up later. Gotham City Sirens Unfit for Orbit #1, because apparently the only thing Gotham was missing was an alien discotheque. Catwoman, Ivy, and Harley get back together for an interstellar heist at the hottest (and most suspicious) nightclub in town. But the DJ isn’t spinning tracks—he’s plotting planetary destruction. With Despero as the big bad and a guest list that includes mutant dancers and UFOs, this wild one-shot is pure chaos candy. Gotham gets weird (again), and with all the character appearances and cosmic hijinks, collectors might want to grab it before it’s gone.
