Shocking News – Spider-Man Musical in More Trouble!

Not long after news reporting that the Spider-Man Broadway musical had been saved by two new investors, one of the alleged saviors asks "Wha huh?!"

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, the Broadway musical starring the wisecracking webhead, has been more on-again-off-again than Peter Parker’s marriage to Mary Jane. Just a few months ago, many considered the project dead in the water, until the announcement of two new investors who would ensure that the show would go on. Many comics news reporters may now be wishing Mephisto could appear to retcon those stories, however, as James Stern, one of the alleged investors, had this to say recently to MTV News :

"Yeah, I think that it would be good if people would actually talk to
me before they write that sort of thing. It’s not really—I mean, I don’t know. Whether I’m involved in it or not, I
don’t have any idea yet."

Stern, who has been involved with The Sound of Music, The Producers, and the recent Will Ferrell project You’re Welcome America, does have some kind words for the Spider-Man project:

"I love the show. I think it’s brilliant. The score is brilliant."

It remains to be seen whether a glowing endorsement will save the show without a financial one, but fans who have been eagerly awaiting more Spidey song and dance since the famous scene in Spider-Man 3 will have to keep hoping the project can hold on for One More Day.
