Singer to Return to X-Men Franchise or Battlestar Gallactica?

What will be next for Superman Returns and X-Men director Bryan Singer? Could he be returning to the X-Men franchise?

Brian Singer, known to comic fans for his work on the first two X-Men movies, as well as Superman Returns, could be returning for some more comic book goodness, or, at the very least, something that will appeal to geeks of some sort.

Singer is already producing and possibly directing Excalibur, a remake based on the King Arthr mythos. What else is in the future? According to Variety :

Singer recently signed on to develop to direct and produce “Battlestar
Galactica” at Universal, a project he’d been eyeing since he originally
made a deal to godfather a series revival in 2001. At the same time,
Singer has been flirting with directing “X-Men: First Class,” a 20th
Century Fox spinoff that got a first script draft by “O.C.” creator
Josh Schwartz.

Finally, the next project directed by Singer that fans are likely to see is Jack The Giant Killer from New Line, a take on the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.
