The United States Of Captain America #5 – First appearance alert. Meet the newest Captain America, Jeremy Merrick.
Batman Secret Files – Peacekeeper-01 #1 – As we’ve said within the articles here a few times already, DC Comics are really pushing their newer Batman heroes and villains a lot. Peacemaker here gets the “secret files” treatment.
Gunslinger Spawn #1 – The Todd McFarlane machine is firing on all cylinders and he’s just getting started. The new Spawn Universe is not even at full-tilt and here comes another number one BIG issue headed our way. Accompanied by a slew of variant covers, Gunslinger #1 will be a hit for McFarlane and the Spawn Universe. Todd has top creative talent running at us with these debut issues and variant covers. Yes, his finger is on the pulse of what comic collectors want. He delivers with a marketing skill-set unlike most who understand or have within their cranium toolbox. Good for Todd for grasping it and making his business thrive. As always with these new Spawn Universe comics, always be on the lookout for a first appearance. All you need is for ONE of these characters to breakout. You’ll make serious bank in the aftermarket the way things are these days. Don’t count on the market to be like this forever though. It will eventually dry up. Not a pessimistic thought here, just a real broad scope of the way things usually work when so many “non” fans are involved.
The Death Of Doctor Strange #2 – First appearance alert. The first appearance of Three Mothers. Wyrd, Crawling, and Crown.
Phoenix Song Echo #1 – New series of a transformed character. We did call this a little while back too. We stated that new characters would emerge from the recent Phoenix/Avengers storyline and be put to work within the Marvel Universe. Well, here’s one. Looks dope too!

Here are the rest of the trending comics headed your way this Wednesday from our flagship article; Hot Comics 10/20/21Also, check out our other posts this week—-> Best Cover Art 10/20/21 and Trending Collectibles 10/20/21.

Hellcop #1 – New Hellcop series from Image Comics. There is a special 3D version of this premiere issue. A”Spawn” variant is also available to set more eyeballs on the comic this Wednesday.
Thor #18 – A first appearance of Throg (Frog Thor), a CGC 9.8, sold for $473 recently. Absurdity at its finest, but money is fantastic if someone is willing to overpay you for it. The buyer will always decide/dictate the self-worth for themselves. Throg is getting the full treatment here from mega-star creator/writer Donny Cates. Where will he take Throg is anyone’s guess. Making Throg more popular will drive that ballon price up even more.
Ant #1 – Way back in 2012, well, it wasn’t that long ago, comic creator Erik Larsen bought the rights to the ANT franchise from Gully. Now Mr. Larsen is ready to cash in his chips. Ant #1 debuts from Image Comics. Written and drawn by……wait for it……Erik Larsen! So this means Mr. Larsen has his plate full now with the second-longest monthly indie title ever (Savage Dragon) and now Ant. Thanks for the creative content!
Two horror comics this week to check out, Refrigerator Full Of Heads #1 from DC Comics and Nita Hawes’ Nightmare Blog #1 from Image Comics. With the renewed interest in horror comics these days, from Boom Studios, Image, AfterShock, etc, these two are sure to sell out quickly being that Halloween is right around the corner too. Lots of horror-minded individuals looking for a scare. The comic creators are really knocking it out of the park these days with gory well-told, stories.
