The Deadpool food chain continues at Marvel. This week fans will be introduced to Panther-Pool. No seriously, this isn’t news from our friends over at the Fake Comic Book News website. This first appearance in Black Panther vs. Deadpool #4 will probably turn some fanboy heads. Anything regarding a new Deadpool character or introduction gets the attention of many readers, collectors and fanboys, thus causing a trend to hit the socials. Who knows how big this new character gets? It’s a comic that’ll sell-out, that much is a gimme. Writer Daniel Kibblesmith and illustrator Ricardo Lopez Ortiz.
Doctor Strange #10 is an anniversary issue. Marvel goes back to original counting (when it’s convenient to sell a book – wink/wink). It’s the 400th Doctor Strange comic. This comic brings a host of creators along with it to usher in the celebration.

Last week Marvel started their celebratory 80th year campaign by releasing new horror and war stories from old 1970’s titles they once had. This week it’s more of the same, enter Journey Into Unknown Worlds #1. The exception this go-around is that the new release borrows from the 1950 release of the same name. Trending Pop Culture suggested last week Marvel’s interest in these books could be a “test” within the marketplace to get “feelers” for their possible go into a whole new genre of films. Our previous site; InvestComics, suggested this years and years ago. It may be coming to fruition now. Although we aren’t in the speculation business anymore, collectors may want to get their old Marvel horror and war comics in order. #JustSaying. Other then the speculation, these new horror books will have to be put together in a way it strikes a nerve in the reader. It’ll have to move them in a way to talk about its contents to fellow readers to BUY this comic. Thus, creating a buzz. Thus, creating the interest the Marvel marketing department is seeking. Disney does everything by design and they are absolutely controlling the Marvel Comics end to monitor a pulse. Using its resources to test out new things. The promise of great storytelling is present with Cullen Bunn and Clay McLeod Chapman at the helm. Artist Francesco Manna.

Back in 1990, at the height of all that was glorious within the world of speculation and amazing creative talent came a book; X-Men #268. A now infamous Jim Lee cover (writer Chris Claremont) displaying the team of Captain America, Wolverine and Black Widow for the “first time!” A CGC 9.8 sold for $79 just the other day. A signed Stan Lee/Jim Lee 9.8 CGC sold for $599 the other day as well. That’s some nice cash either way. So, what’s all the talk about this comic anyway? This week, Marvel stirs up the gimmick machine and releases the X-Men #268 3D. Yes, a 3D comic complete with polybag and 3D glasses. Yes, it’s 1990 all over again in 2019. One of the craziest things about this 3D book is that Marvel uses the same exact cover from 1990 and slaps the “3D” on it. See, ALL-NEW now! A raw 1990 version of this comic can be had for at least $5-$10 on Ebay. The 3D version should definitely be interesting though. Once again, a tester here. We may see more 3D’s if the sales say so. Expect fans to post their 3D X-Men books with their comments about it on social media. Positivity will bring more. Mickey has big ears.
A big reveal in Ms. Marvel #37 expects to change things dramatically for the character. Keep your eyes on this one. Creators G. Willow Wilson and Nico Leon.
Marvel Knights: 20th Anniversary #6 expects to really shake things up. Read and find out how exactly. Creators Donny Cates and Kim Jacinto.
A new X book arrives this week; Age Of X-Man: Alpha #1. Written by Zav Thompson, Lonnie Nadler and art by Ramon Rosanas.

Teen Titans Annual #1 will introduce Joy Stick into the DC Universe. Joy Stick originally first appeared in Teen Titans Go! #41 in 2007. This is the same pattern Harley Quinn took. First appearing in “non-continuity” then appearing within the confines of the DCU. Well, you know the rest. Will Joy Stick character follow suite? Never know. The Teen Titans Go! #41 sells for $30+ right now due to an abundance of introductions in one comic.
While Marvel Comics do their thing regarding the horror and war genre this Wednesday, DC Comics will touch on the old romance comics. Mysteries Of Love In Space #1 will focus on various characters, including Superman, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl and DC’s newest “big push” character Crush. There are other characters appearing in this eight-story book from top talent in the industry. Unlike Marvel’s reasoning (our speculation) for trying out an “old genre”, DC Comics approaches this comic for a different vibe for its fans.
Writer Brian Michael Bendis sets up a “monumental” event set to happen in the DC Universe with his “Leviathan Rising” in Action Comics #1007.
Justice League Annual #1; Writers Scott Snyder and James Tynion. Artists Juan Albarran and Daniel Sampere.
