What are Marvel Creators Up To?

Young Avengers, Amazing Spider-Man, New Ultimates, and more!

Rich Johnston from our second favorite comics site on the internet, Bleeding Cool, has some news this morning about what some of Marvel’s hottest creators have in the works. Some of the more interesting tidbits:

Allan Heinberg has the first four issues of the upcoming Young Avengers relaunch written, with Jim Cheung working on the art chores.

Dan Slott is writing scripts for Amazing Spider-Man in full script style. Full script style is very detailed, like a movie script, describing everything from camera angles to dialog in each panel. Marvel style, the prefered way of scripting at Marvel, is a much looser format that allows more freedom for the writer and artist by simply describing the action in each panel and then adding dialog after the artist has interpretted it.

Howard Chaykin is putting his creator-owned work on hold to conecentrate on his Marvel Max series Dominic Fortune.

Things may be looking slow for Frank Cho on his New Ultimates project with  Jeph Loeb, having just completed the first issue five months after starting sketches. No one is surprised by this.
