Wolverine and the X-Men Cancelled! Plus Other Animation News from Marvel at C2E2

The fan-favorite Wolverine and the X-Men will not be returning for a second season! Plus some other news.

Wolverine and the X-Men, which was set to feature an Age of Apocalypse storyline in its second season, has not been renewed, apparently due to issues with the financial backer. The desire to move Marvel toons off of Nick and onto Disney XD may have played a role, however.

On that note, Ultimate Spider-Man will debut on Disney XD in fall of 2010.

Iron Man: Armored Adventures is in production for a second season of 26 episodes.

Super Hero Squad Show is also in production for a second season, which will go in a more cosmic direction.

Iron Man and Wolverine animes are in the works for a Japanese audience.

Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, will explore Avengers concepts from Stan Lee’s time to teh present. A prison break storyline will bring the Avengers together, similar to the beginning of New Avengers. It looks fucking awesome, in this reporter’s opinion.

The Marvel Knights team is working on another motion comic.
