Avengers #42 – A new Phoenix will emerge. Maybe not finalized in this issue, but it’s been fun getting there. Writer Jason Aaron on his A-game. Pencils by Luca Maresca.
Strange Academy #8 – Speaking of hot creators on a hot story, Skottie Young and Hunberto Ramos continue the early stories of what will someday become an even bigger one.
The Immortal Hulk #43 – Disney continues to introduce the Alien character onto various variant covers. All of them are first appearances with said Marvel character. Here is the first Hulk vs. Alien by cover artist Declan Shalvey.
Future State Wonder Woman #2 – DC’s Future State will eventually go away. Just like any and all gimmicks do. With some exceptions. Like the Snyder/Capullo New 52 Batman. That was and IS the standout that stuck around. The standout for DC’s Future State won’t be the first African American Batman in The Next Batman, it’s going to be the Brazilian Amazon Warrior Future State Wonder Woman. Writer/artist Joëlle Jones is bringing next-level stuff here. As did Snyder/Capullo.
The Amazing Spider-Man #55 – The first print sold out quickly. The 2nd Printing is a shorter(?) print run and is starting at the $199 mark on eBay. With quite a few already being sold.

Venom #33 – This David Finch cover is sure to turn some heads. Almost an old, but a new style of a Spidey vs. Venom cover.
Specter Inspectors #1 – Boom Studios introduces a new team; the Specter Inspectors. Writers Bowen McCurdy (<–artist too) and Kaitlyn Musto.
Avengers Mech Strike #1 – What’s not to love about an Avengers Transformers comic? Well, not the Transformers, but the Avengers in super cool robot form. Writer Jed Mackay and artist Carlos Magno.
Luna #1 – Another new/introduction Boom Studios release this week. Writer/artist Maria Llovet.
Sonjaversal #1 – Dynamite Entertainment makes a battle royal book that appears to have every Sonja character fight to the death. Writer Christopher Hastings and artist Pasquale Qualano.

New King in Black number one issues this week; King In Black Black Knight #1, King In Black Marauders #1, and King In Black Gwenom Vs. Carnage #2.
Deep Beyond #1 – New sci-fi series from hot writer Mirka Andolfo (Mercy) and David Goy. Art by Andrea Broccardo. You better buy this one, it’s going to sell out.
Fear Case #1 – Dark Horse debuts a new/raw detective series from creator Matt Kindt. Penciler Tyler Jenkins.

Man-Bat #1 – This comic from Dave Wielgosz and Sumit Kumar was supposed to arrive months ago. The pandemic delayed it. The Kyle Hotz cover is sweet too.
Star Wars The High Republic #2 – The red hot debut issue is selling for a premium right now, let’s see if issue two follows it. IDW Publishing also gets into the SW High Republic game this week with Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #1.
Horror Comics Black & White #1 – Antarctic Press never disappoints and this debut won’t either.
Maniac Of New York #1 – The modern day Jason. The debut of a maniac in NYC running free. Sounds normal, doesn’t it? Relax, NY born, don’t get your panties in a bunch. Aftershock Comics. Creators; Elliot Kalan and Andrea Mutti.
