Hot New Comic Covers Arriving This Week 5-7-25.
Absolute Superman #7 by Dan Panosian might as well come with its own wind machine. Because when you’re brooding in the woods with your cape slashed in blood-red drama, nothing says “I’m definitely not ok” like a three-quarter turn and perfect hair. Panosian paints Superman like a myth wrapped in melancholy—probably wondering if he left the Fortress lights on. The muscle sheen and texture work here deserve a cover-sized frame. Storm #8 from Michele Bandini goes full storm-god power couple on us with Thor and Storm blasting forward like lightning-throwing action figures someone actually posed correctly. The cosmic electricity all around them, glowing eyes, and Bandini’s knack for movement make this a cover that shouts “double thunder trouble” with confidence. Marvel didn’t just dial it up—they broke the switch. Batgirl #7 by Dan Mora makes every Gotham rooftop jealous. Balanced atop a glowing globe like she’s  auditioning for a Cirque du Gotham act, Batgirl overlooks the lit-up cityscape with just enough brooding to remind you: yes, she’s watching. Mora’s precision with city lights and shadows practically turns Gotham into a co-star, making this a collector’s dream for lovers of sleek urban vigilante vibes. Spawn #364 by Carlo Barberi proves once again that Spawn cannot just have a normal Tuesday. He’s so small on this cover compared to the volcanic nightmare looming over him, but Barberi makes sure everything hits with a purpose. The use of negative space and light makes this monster-of-the-week showdown feel epic. Spawn looks like he’s about to throw hands anyway. Of course he is. Deadpool #14 by Pasqual Ferry is as subtle as a bazooka in church. You get double Deadpools and Taskmaster in front of a full moon, all firing bullets in chaotic harmony while limbs fly everywhere. Ferry’s art captures that deranged ballet of violence Deadpool fans expect, and honestly, if you’re not collecting covers with this much ridiculousness, are you even collecting? Hello Darkness #10 by Jenny Frison should come with a health warning. The ultra-close mouth-with-tongue-out visual alone is already off-putting, but then come the spiders. Crawling. On. The. Tongue. One dangling by a thread. Frison didn’t just lean into the nightmare fuel—she doubled down and dunked it in pure psychological horror. If unsettling covers build value, this one’s climbing fast. Red Sonja Attacks Mars #2 by Jae Lee & June Chung looks like a ‘50s sci-fi poster got jacked up on high-def ink. Red Sonja stares down a Martian straight out of your worst “Ack Ack” dreams, and even with a spear through it, the alien’s looking as defiant as ever. Lee’s elegant menace meets Chung’s bold color separation, and you’re left with a showdown that could easily be hung in an off-world art gallery. Poison Ivy #33 by Kyuyong Eom cranks the heat up to “Are we still allowed to display this in stores?” With a yellow jungle blur behind her and her leafy costume barely clinging on, Ivy turns around like she just caught you thinking about selling this for a CGC 9.8. Eom’s color layering makes the green pop and her red hair burn through the background—seductive and sinister, as any Ivy fan would demand.
