The Cosmic Ghost Rider character is still ‘riding high’ with the Marvel and comic book fanbase. No signs of him throttling down anytime soon. So, what will Marvel present to its faithful CGR fans after the successful debut last month? How about….Space Sharks! Yes, that’ll grab the attention of fans. Cosmic Ghost Rider #2 with an appearance of Space Sharks! Check out that crazy Geoff Shaw shark cover too. That’ll get some airplay around social media for a little bit. And for the speculators wondering, this is not the first appearance of Space Sharks. They first appeared from legends Chris Claremont (writer) and Dave Cockrum (artist) in 1982’s Uncanny X-Men #162. Hey, they can’t all be home runs, right?
Ant-Man & The Wasp #4 follows our heroes within the Microverse and back to reality. The thing is every time they come back they come back with newer/different powers. This issue shows us some of the side affects of going back and forth from one parallel to the other. Maybe they’ll shoot rays out of their eyeballs now. Or maybe be more like Jeff Goldblum from the fly and they both start mutating/morphing into their respective insects somehow. That’s probably more of a What If? story, but hey never know!

Adv of Super Sons #1

Click on the RED links, Images/comic cover to buy/bid from All available sellers on Ebay

Well, Super Sons will start anew this week with a new number one issue. What’s wrong with just continuing within the continuity of the original series instead of starting with a number one issue you ask? Answer is simple, DC and Marvel and many, well all, of the indie companies have figured out that they are catering to the collector’s market more so these days then not. That’s why. Deny all you want old scholler’s or nostalgic mutants, there is no other way to explain the constant restarts. Oh, still not convinced? How about a bazillion (being obsessive here, obviously) variant covers that accompany the said number one issue? Yes, catering to an over-bought market, but that’s okay because companies need to make their money to pump out their content. Eventually the tide will turn once again once the modern market dries up a bit. ‘Modern speculators’ will eventually realize that the brand-new comic on the shelf on Wednesday that cost them $40 because of a ‘pretty’ cover will most likely amount to a cover price comic sooner rather then later will wise up. Once that happens, things will change back to somewhat normalcy without the pointless variant covers, which in turn may slow down the ‘number one’ being such a draw to the sell. But for now, we move along to Adventures Of The Super Sons #1 this Wednesday. It will be a fantastic book regardless of the aforementioned banter. That banter has nothing to do with the quality of the content in most books. Writer Peter J. Tomasi is back with artists Carlo Barberi and Art Thibert.

Titans Special #1 – The Teen Titans are on their way back. Kicking some butt and taking some names. Maybe not so much some names, but they are kicking some butt that’s for sure. This Teen Titans special is sold out and trending well on the inter-web as we speak. Rumor has it that this is the first appearance of ‘The Crush’……Lobo’s daughter. Good luck trying to find a copy someplace sitting on the shelf on new comic book Wednesday. Same as the next comic goes in this top 5, most shops are limiting the customers to just one copy. Hoarding the rest for themselves to put on the wall next week saying ‘So, yea, we got our hands on a few copies.’ Yea, sure you did.
Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur #32 – The first appearance of Princess Fisk. This first appearance has caused quite the stir. Most comic shops are limiting the book to one copy per person.
Ms.Marvel #31 – A mega surprise ending has this book selling out at Diamond.
Shadow Roads #1 – New series from Oni Press is sold out.; Writers Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt with artist A.C. Zamudio.
Bloodstrike #23 – Rob Liefeld takes a jab at himself with a first appearance cover of ‘The Pouch’.

Scarlet Spider #3

Deadpool Assassin #2

Sentry #1 (2000)

Sentry #1 (2018)

Siege #2

The villain known as Harvester will be making his presence known in the new Deadpool series; Deadpool: Assassin #2. This version of Harvester first appeared in Scarlet Spider #3 (2012).
Marvel’s version of Superman makes his way back into the fold of the Marvel U with a new number one issue. Sentry #1 from writer Jeff Lemire and artist Aaron Kim Jacinto. This character should have been more then a B or a C lister by now but simply isn’t. Maybe this will be the time he breaks out a bit. He was quite popular back in when he debuted in Sentry #1 back in 2000. The defining moment within this character’s young life has to be in Siege #2. Sentry vs. Ares and it ended really bad for Ares. Sentry literally ripped Ares in half. Literally. See the image above of the actual ‘splash’ page spread that showed this insanity. Yes, that’s pretty bad as* and he’s back in his own comic once again. We’re team Sentry 100%.
Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur #32 introduces Princess Fisk. Sold out.
Ms. Marvel hits issue number 50 with Ms.Marvel #31. Yes, it’s 50 total issues from the previous 5 million restarts (sarcasm of course). However, this issue promises a surprise in it that’ll ‘rock Kamala’s world’. This is all according to Marvel, so don’t hold us to it.
The new Wakanda Forever: The Amazing Spider-Man #1 sees Dora Milaje teaming up with various Marvel U players. You can all guess who she’s teaming with first. Creators; Nnedi Okorafor and Alberto Alburquerque.
Jimmy Hudson will get a new codename in X-Men Blue #30. Marvel asks the question though, is he friend or foe? Pick this up and find out.
A few years ago, some rumors made its rounds about Multiple Man being played by James Franco in a film and the speculative market blew up. Since then, cooler heads have prevailed, and the aftermarket calmed its happy as* down a bit. Marvel now tries to pick up the pace again with the release of Multiple Man #1. Matthew Rosenberg and Andy MacDonald bring fans this new tale.
New all-ages comic; Marvel Superhero Adventures: Webs, Arrows, and Ants. Oh My! #1. That’s a mouthful. Jim McCann and Dario Brizuela.

Ms. Marvel #31

Teen Titans Spec #1

X-Men Blue #30

DC Comics has a hit on their hands this Wednesday. Better get this one quick if you don’t want to miss the boat. Trending already on media outlets, Teen Titans Special #1 sets up the Teen Titans for a new start and a new series of their own. Writer Adam Glass and artist Robson Rocha.
Teaming Harley Quinn and the Joker in any comic is an instant way to make heads turn. Especially when the two are at odds with each other (which is most of the time, no?). Check out Batman: Prelude To The Wedding – Harley vs. Joker #1. Creators Tim Seeley and Sami Basri. Ding ding!
Speaking of Batman, Bane: Conquest #12 brings the series to a close with an ending ‘you’ll never see coming’.

Rob Liefeld mocks himself on the cover of the Bloodstrike #23 variant. The first appearance of The Pouch. Yes, this is real. Sold out too. This is real too.
Charlie’s Angels #1 from writer John Layman and artist Joe Eisma. Those two are reason enough to check this comic out.
Vampirella: Roses For The Dead #1 Billy Tucci cover is sold out. Cry For Dawn artist Joseph Michael Linsner on this one, with writer Kristina Deak-Linsner.

InvestComics has spoken about introducing Moon Knight into the media fray way before it was a thought for any other website. We did it with Power Pack recently, speaking about that kid group getting their own thing going and so many more, but Moon Knight will fall into the category of ‘we told you so’ eventually. If you’re not aware, InvestComics has a Moon Knight checklist (key books) from 2015. You can see that list if you click right HERE. Now that’s all out of the way, this Wednesday Moon Knight #188 will introduce a new villain that will wreak havoc into the life of Marvel’s white knight. Maybe this character will be the main adversary in the Netflix show, Hulu, YouTube, Amazon, movie, television show? Who knows? What we do know is that there’s a first appearance to check out!
Well, the fight every fan has been waiting for has arrived. A new storyline named ‘Spider-Man Versus Deadpool’ part 1 begins in Spider-Man Deadpool #23. Brought to you by creators Robbie Thompson and Chris Bachalo. Who do you have? Spidey or Deadpool? Pick a side!

The new Generation x #8 comic will hyper-focus on the character Monet St. Croix. She first appeared (second St. Croix) in Generation X #40 in 1998. Check out that 90’s cover too. So loud, so proud, so much fun!
Writer Charles Soule begins a new story arc in Daredevil #595. Mayor Fisk part 1.
Star Wars #38 features Darth Vader scribe Kieron Gillen’s first Star Wars issue.

Wonder Woman will fight her brother Jason in Wonder Woman #34, which is actually Wonder Woman #700. Happy anniversary WW!
New story begins in Supergirl #15 from writers Jody Houser and Steve Orlando, “Plain Sight”.
The ‘Batman Who Laughs’ craze is on full tilt. This character has caught on with fans, big time. Is that him on the cover of Justice League of America #18? (Update): Of course it isn’t The Batman Who Laughs! It’s right there on the cover. Thanks to a very keen eyed fan, they pointed this out to us! Hope no one spent their entire paycheck on this comic because of our mistake.

As previously reported on in the InvestComics Hot Picks #498 article, Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast #1 will be coming THIS week. We report on what the scheduling says, we have no control of delays. That said, here’s a repeat of what was said in the InvestComics Hot Picks #498 post; Eddie, from the heavy metal band Iron Maiden makes his comic book debut in Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast #1. Well, it’s sort of his debut. DC Comics featured ‘Iron Maiden’ in Scare Tactics #7 (1997). They never referred to Iron Maiden as ‘Eddie’, so yes/no on that first appearance.
Chapterhouse Comics debuts a new series, Fallen Suns #1. Creators Van Jensen, Leila Del Duca and Neil Collyer.

Each week InvestComics seeks out a comic(s) on Ebay for $100 or less and then brings it to the attention of our fans. We call it IC 100 Club Pick. The idea is to get a great book at a great price. We do not own nor are we selling these comics. The comics are found by a random process. We do not know the ebay seller(s), nor are we promoting the Ebay seller. Any knowing from the Ebay seller of InvestComics or its affiliates is purely coincidental. (See disclaimer for more details).

IC 100 Club Pick: Daredevil #150 (1978) CBCS 9.0. This nicely graded book features the first appearance of the villain Paladin. It’s signed by artist Klaus Janson. It also has a Gil Kane/Frank Giacoia cover. All of this for $65!

One of Spider-Man’s greatest adversaries gets another number one issue this Wednesday. Venom #1 debuts with writer Mike Costa and artist Gerardo Sandoval at the helm. Have you seen the InvestComics giveaway contest? You could win the exclusive Venom #1 Greg Horn WonderWorld Comics variant. Click HERE and follow the easy instructions to enter. Good luck. Back to talking about the release of the new comic. Well, let’s talk about Venom appearances for a minute. We all know of his “cameo” in Amazing Spider-Man #299 (1988) and his first full appearance is in Amazing Spider-Man #300 (1988). Those comics can be costly in the aftermarket, so why not shop for Venom’s “second” full appearance (third overall) in Amazing Spider-Man #315 (1989)? Some may overcharge for this comic, but still worth a hunt for a great copy at an affordable price. Most collectors won’t budge so much on #299 or #300, but #315 is more flexible for most. Here’s a crazy Venom comic that a collector can snag on Ebay for about one dollar. Quasar #6 (1989). It’s the first Venom appearance anywhere outside the Spider-Man universe (comic).
One more thing. The Venom #1 Todd McFarlane variant has an asking price of $150 right now on Ebay. The McFarlane Venom variant cover is the actual first appearance Todd drew of Venom in the Amazing Spider-Man #299 issue (last page) back in 1988. Nothing new here, just Marvel showing off Todd’s greatness.

Dani Moonstar returns in All New X-Men Annual #1. She last appeared in 2014’s All-New X-Factor #8 and Amazing X-Men #6. They both came out in the same month, we’re not too sure which came out first or if they came out the same week. No matter really, it’s irrelevant, she’s back now. However, of possible relevance is her first appearance in Marvel Graphic Novel #4 New Mutants (1982).
Ultimates Squared #1 is a new team title from Marvel. Ultimates Squared are the heralds of Galactus and they’re called the Lifebringer. This is not the first appearance of this team formed by Galactus. Lifebringer first appeared in Ultimates #2 (2016).

The smartest person in the Marvel universe is Lunella Lafayette. A fourth grader. Marvel is out to prove their case as the latest story line begins in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #13. The Amy Reeder cover keeps us guessing, what is connected to what? Creative cover.
Civil War II #7 will be the final issue. Great Marko Djurdjevic cover (regular) of Captain Marvel laying the smackdown.
Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 will feature the first written comic book work by comedian/talk show host/game show host Wayne Brady.

A couple of DC mentions……..this does not mean there aren’t any more superb DC comics coming out, just two that made it here that’s all. So we’re good right?
Deathstoke runs into the Man of Steel in Deathstroke #7. A homage Superman cover from Shane Davis.
…..And that Jenny Frison Wonder Woman #11 cover really nails a distraught looking WW. The last issue of ‘The Lies’ story line.

John Layman and Rob Guillory have an incredible run on the title Chew. This Wednesday the series comes to an end. Chew #60 will be a double size finale.

4 Kids Walk Into A Bank #1 – All of the variants in the aftermarket are well above market value right now. Seems Black Mask comics have struck a nerve with comic book fans once again.

Dark Souls #1 – Another indie book cracks the Top 5. This hot video game based comic is showing signs of a sell out.

Mighty Thor #6 – We think this might be the first official appearance of Viking Hulk. Read this week’s InvestComics Hot Picks #420 article to inquire more details on this.

Deadpool And The Mercs For Money #3 – Check this comic out for a slew of villains appearing in it.

New Avengers #9 – A comic that appeared in a previous Hot Picks article (last month), but made in back into an InvestComics Hot Picks article THIS week and into the Top Five list this week as well. We can do this because we don’t have to answer to anyone. The first appearance of Avenger Five, American Kaiju, and Doctor Varghese.

NOTE. Please understand that when InvestComics releases the Hot Picks article on Friday that many of the independent comics may not be available on Ebay yet. Most of the time, some of the more obscure titles make their way onto Ebay later on in the week or right on/at/before new comic book day on Wednesday. Be sure to check back and click the links or cover(s) to see if the books you want have been listed on Ebay. They usually show up, so be sure to check back!

IC 100 Club Pick: Thor #149 8.5 (1968). This comic features the first origin of the Inhumans. A nice 8.5 grade can get bumped to a possible 9.0 if pressed. An amazing comic for only $80 with FREE shipping. With the Inhumans movie drawing closer in a couple of years, this comic will be an untouchable. Triple its value easily. Get this comic before someone else does.

The super cool Avenger Five will make an appearance in New Avengers #10. Avenger Five first appeared in the previous issue New Avengers #9. That issue also had the first appearances of American Kaiju and Doctor Varghese.
We’re not a 100% on this, but we’re not finding a true first appearance on the Viking Hulk character. So we’ll say that the Mighty Thor #6 will feature the first appearance of Viking Hulk. No? Maybe? If you’re not a fanboy, please help out our fellow InvestComics fans if you know of a Viking Hulk character NAMED in another comic other than the Mighty Thor #6 coming out this week. If he’s wearing a silly viking helmet in some comic and is still called Hulk, that doesn’t count.
Regular follower’s of InvestComics know how we feel about this title. We like the concept and the feel of it. Marvel must maintain the course here. Check out Deadpool And The Mercs For Money #3 with a slew of villains appearing in it.
Speaking of Deadpool, there’s a great cover swipe regarding the secret cover to Deadpool #10. The cover swipe is from Jim Steranko’s classic Nick Fury Agent of S.h.i.e.l.d. #1 (1968).
Cap and Black Widow team up to train a new team of Avengers. This happens in Captain America Road To War #1. The Francesco Mattina variant cover is nice.
Disney Kingdoms Haunted Mansion #1 saw some sellouts when it came out. This week, the follow up, Disney Kingdoms Haunted Mansion #2.

Nothing but a good story happening in the Superman American Alien comics. And we also admire the Ryan Sook cover; Superman American Alien #6.
Joseph Michael Linser’s variant; Harley’s Little Black Book #3 is sold out.
Aquaman will turn to the Scavenger for some answers this week in Aquaman #51. Have you seen the InvestComics Aquaman checklist yet? It came out back in August of 2015. If not go now for some key issues right HERE. In there you’ll find Aquaman #37 (1968), the first appearance of Scavenger. Get your Aquaman comics now before the aftermarket really escapes you.
Super League part 3 in Action Comics #51. Check out our previous Hot Picks (2 straight weeks) on why we are on the trail of this event going through the Superman books.

From a New York newspaper interview, Valiant Entertainment says it will have the first appearance of Vladimir Putin in Divinity II #1. We assume “as a villain” here right? Because Putin has appeared in other comics before. All Marvel Comics appearances at that. Either way, Divinity was a hit book for Valiant the first time around, it’ll be a hit book again. Last count, 7 variant covers. Trevor Hairsine sketch cover is sold out.

Black Mask Comics brings us 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank #1. Mostly every number one Black Mask Comic sells out. No difference here probably. Some of the variants are commanding bigger monies in the aftermarket already.
The new Dark Horse comic, Dept H #1 will be written and drawn by Matt Kindt. The cover from Jeff Lemire almost depicts an X-Man on the cover doesn’t it?
An Image Comic to have fun read with this week; Chew Demon Chicken Poyo #1 from writer John Layman and artist Rob Guillory.

Wrapping up, these are must gets in the Indie market. Black Eyed Kids #1 (B.E.K.) (After-Shock Comics), Joyride #1 (Boom Studios), Fourth Planet #4 (Chapter House Publishing), Mad Balls #1 (Lion Forge), Gutter Magic #4 (IDW).

Daredevil #181 (1982) – One of the most iconic comic books in history here, the Death of Elektra. When it does, watch as this overprinted awesome comic commands some ridiculous aftermarket monies. If you do not own this comic by now, you should get it.

What If #35 (1982) – A few months after knocking off Elektra, Marvel immediately went to the well and made this comic. They already knew they struck a cord with comic fans and were cashing in. See they’ve been doing this for years! Frank Miller writes and pencils this alternate universe story. Oh and legend Steve Ditko pencils the first appearance of the Cat People in another story. No really, we’re not making that up.

Daredevil #197 (1983) – Yuriko (later becomes Lady Deathstryke) makes her first appearance. Bullseye appearance.

Daredevil #200 (1983) – A classic John Byrne/Terry Austin cover.

Alpha Flight #34 (1986) – Bullseye finally steps away from the Daredevil comic. His first appearance outside a DD comic is in this Alpha Flight comic. Alpha Flight? Odd. He’s not on the cover though.

Daredevil #284 (1990) – Bullseye appears with Typhoid Mary for the first time.

Daredevil #286 (1990) – Greg Capullo fills in for this one issue.
