Just a quick note regarding something from the speculative market that needs to be addressed. I saw this and had to share my thoughts because I see too many being swindled out of believing something that is simply a falsehood being driven by a market that needs to get with it a bit. This is one of the many reason the InvestComics website switched gears over the years and eventually arrived to a Trending brand. Comics can trend, but making stuff up to upsell is simply not a vehicle anyone should drive. Maybe I can make sense of it for you a bit. Maybe not. Maybe we can have an open discussion, like grown-ups on one of our social media pages. Weigh in and see what other collectors may think about this. A quick reminder, this is an opinion for MATURE readers, not fanboys with emotions that cannot read without formulating a solid foundation for an adult debate.
Please share this with your friends and others that have a rational sense of thinking. Be sure to let them know you have seen the light because of Trending Pop Culture if you agree.
Recently arrived from the Orlando MegaCon show and saw on a dealers table the Scooby Doo/Harley Quinn Team-Up comic with a yellow sticky that read ‘Rarest Harley Quinn appearance ever’. Priced at $30. This comic bears absolutely no significance at all in the grand scheme of collecting. It does not….at all. Zero. Let me break this down to you this way. Realize the ridiculousness of this sell…every single superhero or villain has a ‘rarest appearance’ leading up to their 352+ appearance (more on that in a moment). Every. Single. One. Thanos does. So does Deadpool. So does Starlord. So does Nightwing. And so on. Any hero or villain ever put to print has a comic that was the shortest print run during their tenure. It’s a FACT, no getting around this. Why are their RARE appearances not a ‘get’? Is it that the Scooby book sold 10k and the rarest Deadpool sold 12k? Seriously? You see how absurd this is? Please, utilize your monies and maximize it to the best of your capacity for your collection to be filled with tangible books. Wasteful spending on a 352nd appearance of a character as a ‘RARE’ appearance is not a good investment no matter how anyone wants to sell this. Yes, through calculation, counting Regular Quinn, Animated Quinn and Post Flashpoint Quinn, up until the 2015 release of the Scooby Doo Team-Up comic, she appeared in approximately 352 comics (More not counting some hard covers, TPB, reprints or various other continuities) to that 2015 appearance. That’s a whole lot of Quinn. So, what exactly is it with this comic (and countless others) that have so many in a tizzy? $30 well spent someplace else if you ask a true speculator. The Scooby Doo Team Up #12 is at a ‘Buy it Now’ price of $7.99 in some places on eBay. So many stuck on the high end with this comic, it’s not using your best judgement but following the madness of a website(s) or word of mouth.

Ant-Man hits this week with a few number one comics. Two that will trend are Ant-Man And The Wasp #1 from Mark Waid and Javier Garron and Ant-Man & The Wasp: Living Legends #1 from Ralph Macchio and Andrea Di Vito. Must be an Ant-Man movie coming out or something. Within the pages of Ant-Man & The Wasp: Living Legends #1 comes the reemergence of Living Eraser. A third-rate villain that first appeared back in 1963’s Tales To Astonish #49. Which also happens to be Giant-Man’s first appearance. The character quickly fell through the cracks to be revived in 1992 by John Byrne in Sensational She-Hulk #35. The ‘New’ Living Eraser! The crowd gasps! No, they don’t, but hey a great book coming from creative team Ralph Macchio and Andrea Di Vito? We’ll take that. And a new series from Mark Waid and Javier Garron? Yes, we’ll take that too. Thank you Marvel.
The Dazzler character has always been one of those characters to be on the cusp of something, but not quite sure what. Sort of like with Moon Knight, but more wonky. She’s appeared in countless comics throughout her storied career, but never managing to go next level. With the influx of the female heroes/villains making a major impact on the industry within the last decade or past few years, it’s no wonder we go back in time and grab Dazzler to try and make it work….once again. First appearance raw copies on eBay have sold between $40 – $80. An Uncanny X-Men #130 graded CGC 9.6 sold for $130 two months ago. Not that much demand in the open market there. But, that doesn’t mean writer Magdalene Visaggio and artist Laura Braga will not take Dazzler X Song #1 to a new era of interest on new comic book day. It’s a different market these days for the female character. Let the interest spark you, buy a copy, check it out.
Deadpool #1 will be the sixth volume with a number one issue attached to it. Too many restarts? Probably yes, but fans eat this stuff up. Making a new Deadpool series with the number ONE in the upper left-hand corner someplace is like printing money for Marvel. Add in super creative talents like Skottie Young, Scott Hepburn and Nic Klein, you have more of a reason to want this comic upon its release. Some of the many, many variants are already sold out. Remember, as its been said on here for years and years. The guts are the same (inside of the comic), don’t overpay for ONE page that’s different (cover).
Mark Waid is a busy guy these days. A new Doctor Strange series. Doctor Strange #1 Writer Mark Waid artist Jesus Saiz.
For a long time, It was written on this site about the title ‘Totally Awesome Hulk’ as a big downer for the book itself as for any potential first time reader for the comic. The comic was good, but the title was atrocious. Eventually Marvel saw the harm this approach was producing and finally that title went away. This Wednesday, a more ‘mature’ approach from Marvel; The Immortal Hulk #1 from writer Al Ewing and artist Joe Bennett. This is good. Very good. And the comic will hammer out some fantastic Hulk tales with this creative team on board. Looking forward to this.

Superstar writer Scott Snyder brings his stardom to another Justice League relaunch. Justice League #1 with writer Scott Snyder and artist Jim Cheung. A few variants of course accompany this release, but the Jim Lee Batman cover is just….okay. Nothing really jumping out here.
Speaking of Batman, Deathstroke and Bats keep up the fight in Deathstroke #32. Part three Batman vs. Deathstroke.
Have you seen the new Nightwing #45 cover? The John Romita Jr. cover will draw the ire of some. Maybe. We’ll see if this trends because of the graphic nature of it. Maybe it’s nothing too. We’ll see.

About Betty’s Boob

Click on the RED links, Images, comic covers/items to buy/bid from All available sellers on Ebay

Trending Pop Culture Indie Hot Picks; Indie comics do not always show up on Ebay right way. Please check back on a regular basis, some of the smaller print indie books usually list after new comic book release day or a few days after.
An interesting comic from Boom Studios this Wednesday. Not only for it’s interesting title (a snicker will occur when seeing it), but because of its content. About Betty’s Boob is a realistic/comic book approach unto a particular female (Betty) who loses her left breast to cancer, but also loses her boyfriend, her job, her will, but things are lining up for Betty as the day is lining up to become the best day of her life according to writer Vero Cazot and artist Julie Rocheleau. This hard cover will be an interesting read indeed and should be beckoned as a film if someone wants to make a movie about awareness, perseverance and the will to overcome any obstacle thrown your way in life. Hopefully a comic book form of this hard cover reaches stores someday, but this Wednesday, buy the hardcover and read About Betty’s Boob.
For some reason Spawn #286 will be arriving to local comic shops with eight (at last count) variant covers. All covers are Todd McFarlane team-ups with other industry artist. Most of the covers are sold out already. Why the influx of variants here is a bit perplexing. Is there a major storyline happening here? Something…? Anything? Either way, some of these cool covers will be trending across your social media page shortly.
Brother Nash #1 (Titan Books) from Bridgit O’Connell is sold out.
Vagrant Queen #1 (Vault Comics); Magdalene Visaggio and Jason Smith. Sold out.
John Byrnes Stowaway To The Stars #1 Special Edition (IDW); All John Byrne stuff and a new John Byrne story!

DC Comics is at it again. Changing things up and all. Marvel did their bi-yearly cleaning a little bit ago, so now it’s DC’s turn. One thing the big two are not afraid of is change. Superman, to wear red underwear or not to wear red underwear, this is one of the burning questions in all of comic book fandom. The red underwear chronicles, this is the name of an epic event coming up in the new Superman title. Important stuff here! Jim Lee lays the claim down that the red underwear were to always come back after he designed them to not appear on the new costume. Okay Jim. Now the return was met with the answer; “It’s a temporary return”. Everyone does realize we are talking about red underwear, right? Is this topic that important in the grand scheme of things relating to the actual character development here in the future? The answer is quite simple, no. But, this said, there is a reason regular civilian automobiles do not look like mini-tanks or eat up tons of fuel anymore, there is a reason why logo’s for billion dollar corporations change things up, a reason for phones not flipping open anymore. The natural progression of evolution and aesthetic look. It’s ‘normal’ to want to move along and bring things up to date a little bit. Comic fans need to chill a bit when it comes to change. Could you imagine if Superman still actually appeared the way he did in Action Comics #1 today? It wouldn’t sell any copies. Maybe a few, but you understand the meaning here. And so with that long diatribe regarding ‘unimportant’ red underwear, DC Nation #0 is said to have sold (best Dr. Evil impression) one million copies. This according to DC Comics themselves. A million copies. That’s a whole lotta comic books. Granted at a quarter each, local comic shops probably ordered heavy, thus creating that million sales mark. A FREE edition, a 25 cents edition and some variant editions of DC Nation #0 will be available. DC cashing in on that FREE comic thing. Hey, it’s business. DC Nation #0 features all new stories that will CHANGE THE DC UNIVERSE as we know it! Yes, that’s sarcasm, but of course we’ll all check this comic out because we need to. Curiosity/interest will always win out.
Superman will also appear in Action Comics Special #1 this week. No red underwear though. Sorry underwear fans. This comic was originally slated for a 2017 holiday release but is just as jolly now. Dan Jurgens and Will Conrad lead the way.
Original Harley Quinn co-creator, Paul Dini returns to his beloved character for a two-part series; Harley Quinn Loves Joker #1. This mini will wrap up his back-up stories that were appearing in the regular Harley series. Art by Bert Blevins.
The battle of the century (not really, but still bad as*) continues in Deathstroke #31. Deathstroke VS. Batman part two.
Cyborg #22 features the first appearance of Mekkan-X.

A look into the future of Captain America in Captain America #701. The year is 2314. That’s way, way into the future. We’re talking grandson of Steve Rogers, grandson? But 300 years from now? Okay. Anyway, this comic features contributions from various all-star creators with Mark Waid and Leonardo Romero front and center. The Deadpool variant is sold out.
Avengers begins anew again. The seventh time for those keeping score at home. Avengers #1 from writer Jason Aaron and artist Ed McGuiness. ‘Back to basics’ with this Avengers title. As though it seems.
More Wolverine returns stories. This week; Hunt For Wolverine Lost #1. Charles Soule and Matteo Buffagni.
An anti-climatic ending to Brian Michael Bendis’ Spider-Man run. He ends his seven year run with no extra variants and no fanfare. Maybe it’s because he went to the ‘evil empire’. These comic companies are funny aren’t they? Their ‘feelings’ are always the guidance to their not caring about sales or their fans. Hence X-Men, Fantastic Four and other things I cannot think of off the top of my head. So now this ‘quiet’ send off to a seven year writer that created a new Spider-Man (Miles Morales). Oh well. Spider-Man #240 will be Mr. Bendis’ last Spidey issue. Looking forward to what Brian brings to the table at DC. Good luck at the new digs!
Has anyone seen the new Venom trailer? Personally, not a fan of the visual of Venom. Very 90’s. Maybe they’ll clean it up a bit? Just an opinion here. Venom wraps up his series this Wednesday; Venomized #5.
And have you seen the latest Deadpool trailer? Now that looks like a trip and a half. Looking forward to this. Check out You Are Deadpool #1 from writer Al Ewing and artist Salva Espin. Not exactly sure how this comic will work out, but something about ‘fans’ deciding on what happens within the pages of the book. Sounds very Deadpool’ish and we’re in.

InvestComics Hot Picks #484

We usually cover the independent comics after the Marvel and DC Hot Picks, but this week we’re going to lead with an indie that needs your attention. Archie Comics relaunched many of their Archie comic series’ back a couple of years ago with the thought in mind to bring the ‘realistic’ type feel into the books. Gone away is the campy vibe. Many of the Archie comics in the past few years have not been for the younger audience, but they still do have their digest and other kid friendly books. However, this Wednesday’s Archie #22 will tell the tale of a death in the family. A Riverdale character will leave us. This isn’t Archie dying in some dream sequence, this is a character getting written off. Expect media coverage of this book and an immediate bump in the aftermarket here. More importantly, expect a somber, well thought out story from Mark Waid (art by Pete Woods). Get this comic quick, it’ll head to a second printing in a hurry.

Will readers finally get a little more insight into Harley’s parents in Harley Quinn #24? The last (and only) time we visited the family of Harley was back in Gotham City Sirens #7 (2010). That issue was the first appearance of Harley’s mother, dad and brother. This comic is only $10 on Ebay right now. Now that we mentioned it, expect it to bounce a bit again. And how long before DC capitalizes Harley’s brother as a bad guy that teams up with his sister or better yet, a super-hero going against his sister. Maybe a whole family affair with mom and dad too. The Harley Family…..the possibility of any of this is there and will probably come to fruition someday. Just give us credit for giving you a heads up, don’t be knucklehead and take credit for this.

Dolphin made her post New 52 debut in Aquaman #25 last month. She graces the cover of Aquaman #26 this Wednesday. Fans last saw Dolphin in Blackest Night #8 (2010) before popping up in last month’s Aquaman issue. Dolphin first appeared in Showcase #79 (1968).
Batman ’66 Meets The Legion of Super Heroes #1 – Lee Allred & Michael Allred.
Learn the ‘Injustice’ origin of Supergirl in Injustice 2 #6. Tom Taylor and Mike Miller.

IC 100 Club Pick – Avengers #234 – Click to Buy/Bid

NOTE. Please understand that when InvestComics releases the Hot Picks article on Friday that many of the independent comics may not be available on Ebay yet. Most of the time, some of the more obscure titles make their way onto Ebay later on in the week or right on/at/before new comic book day on Wednesday. Be sure to check back and click the links or cover(s) to see if the books you want have been listed on Ebay. They usually show up, so be sure to check back!

We have NO control of release dates nor will we change our article to accommodate a change in shipping, release date or cancellation.

Each week InvestComics seeks out a comic(s) on Ebay for $100 or less and then brings it to the attention of our fans. We call it IC 100 Club Pick. The idea is to get a great book at a great price. We do not own nor are we selling these comics. The comics are found by a random process. We do not know the ebay seller(s), nor are we promoting the Ebay seller. Any knowing from the Ebay seller of InvestComics or its affiliates in purely coincidental. (See disclaimer for more details).

IC 100 Club Pick: TWO CGC comics for $99. The Avengers #234 (1983) 9.8 AND 9.4. The Scarlet Witch is a mainstay (for now) within the Marvel cinematic universe. The Avengers #234 comic retells the Scarlet Witch origin. Both a 9.8 and a 9.4 priced at $99 is a sweet deal. This isn’t $99 for each, it’s for both. Two 1983 comics graded, with one being a 9.8 is a good deal. Better get this before it’s gone.

From Dark Horse comes a new Predator story; Predator Life And Death #1. Read the InvestComics review right HERE from filmmaker Ian Powers.

Image Comics’ The Discipline #1, written by Peter Milligan and art by Leandro Fernandez looks like a great read.

We love how the new Green Lantern #50 variant cover has Batman and Superman on it. No Green Lantern at all. Where’s Green Lantern? Get that money DC! But the Doug Mahnke cover is kinda sweet though.
Find out more about the new Batgirl villain in Batgirl #49. The conclusion of the Batman And Robin Eternal #22 story line will bring every single Batman partner into one book. His minions, his second fiddles, his pipsqueaks, his “you’ll never be Batman” peeps….you get the idea.

The Dustin Nguyen Batman Beyond #10 variant is quite awesome.
The $600+ Jim Lee Dark Knight III The Master Race #3 variant is still available at certain outlets. What a surprise right? A $600 brand new comic book is not sold out? Decisions Decisions…..should you go with that mid-grade first appearance of Black Panther or buy this book?

Mary Jane makes it onto another Invincible Iron Man cover; Invincible Iron Man #7. This cover is drawn by Kate Niemczyk. Marvel’s Women of Power covers are fantastic.
What’s behind the “classified” black-out section on the Deadpool #8 cover? Only cover artist Scott Koblish knows! The secret comic cover variant. Too funny.
The Black Widow title will work on its sixth volume number one issue. Mark Waid will write this volume.
The new Spider-Man series starring Miles Morales is doing very well. The Spider-Man #2 cover from Sara Pichelli will have non-fans pick this up and thumb through. More fans!
Avengers Standoff Assault On Pleasant Hill Alpha #1 (Party Cover) is sold out. Maybe is has to do with Gwenpool being on the cover?
The new Uncanny Avengers series is going to focus on the character Synapse; Uncanny Avengers #6. Her first appearance came in The Uncanny Avengers #1. The first EVER appearance of this character came in Daredevil #376 (1998).

There are so many variants coming out, it’s insane. Power Ranger fans will be in all their glory this Wednesday. GO GO POWER RANGERS!

The first appearance of Action Lab Entertainment’s logo in action takes place on Wednesday. Check out Action Lab Dog Of Wonder #1! This actually looks like a cool book. There are also two Neal Adams variants!

Chapter House Comics Publishing gives readers a double-shot of Captain Canuck this coming week. Aren’t we all lucky?! Check out All-New Classic Captain Canuck #1 and Captain Canuck #7. CC #7 will begin the Gauntlet story line. Jump on board.

Justice League United #15 will team 4 groups together for the first time in one book. Sgt. Rock, Enemy Ace, Creature Commandos, and OMAC. Great reading here!

Speaking of a great read, check out Superman American Alien #1. This comic will have writer Max Landis teaming with several of the industries superstars for a seven issue series chronicling Clark Kent as a youngster and then working all the way up to Superman. The series is said to be a look as we’ve never seen before, so we are excited. The first issue will be illustrated by Nick Dragotta of East of West. Fantastic Ryan Sook cover too.

Vertigo’s new mini-series; Slash and Burn #1 should be on your reading list this week.

Not too sure how the conservatives or politically correct will handle the title of the new Image Comic; The Goddamned #1. Writer Jason Aaron probably has a hit book here regardless of what anyone thinks. Jock supplies a cool variant.

Jason Latour (Spider-Gwen) will guest pencil and write Southern Bastards #12.

Miles Morales will join the All new all different Avengers #1. Lets see how he is as a full time team player. Written by Mark Waid and drawn by Adam Kubert. The Jim Cheung hip hop cover is our favorite. This series will do well.

All new Wolverine #1 will have X-23 as the main character. Her first appearance was in NYX #3 (2004). X-23 was hot for a while there a few years back. She cooled off and then she fell into obscurity. Not anymore! The regular cover and the hip hop variant are the best covers.

After the explosions on July fourth this weekend, seems there is nothing that will resemble the output within the speculative market this coming Wednesday, but there are some potential comics and as always some fantastic reading gets.

There is no shortage of the ridiculous variant craze coming on new comic book day this week. If you would buy all the variants between Archie #1 and Star Wars Lando #1 you’d wind up in the neighbor of about 40 comics (probably more actually). That’s 40 comics on two comic releases alone. Absurd right?

But as many would know from reading the InvestComics article on a weekly basis, there is ONE exception. ONE reason that would make any of these variants worth exploring and buying, ONE reason. Anyone recall what the InvestComics rule would be? That rule will always be (from a speculative viewpoint), the guts. Yes the outside is fancy and new on every single one of the variants. Some catch the eye of the collector, they buy it thinking they got themselves the next big thing on Ebay. Maybe for a moment that holds true (see Star Wars #1), but in the long market (buy market), we see nothing but a trophy wife. Pretty on the outside, but no substance for your self being. If a comic upon its release carries an absurd amount of variants (Star Wars #1) and you’re looking OR thinking you’re to make any kind of speculative cash 25, 35, 50 years from now on that Star Wars #1 variant, you’re missing the entire point of collecting. A couple of rules here; remember to buy a variant first and foremost because you LIKE it, not because it’s going to be worth money. Secondly, if that very expensive variant is calling you out and the resistance is very strong, you have an option to buy it because you really really like it or you can not get it because you think it’s going to be worth a lot of money someday. Newsflash, it’s not. Unless that ONE thing….the guts. As InvestComics has taught readers time and time again, it’s the inside that matter. Always will be. Unless it’s some obscure 3D Deadpool cover. This does happen from time to time, where a variant breaks out on its own due to its “looks”. The only way a variant will truly stand the test of time is because of the story on the inside. There must be an introduction or a uniqueness about it. Either one of these two characteristics will carry a modern comic. Be it a variant or not. Once you put an introduction or something with substance inside of a comic book, you instantly have the potential of something greater when it comes to the “value” of it. There is nothing wrong with a great story. That’s what comic fans always yearn for first and foremost. That said on the flip side, the speculator has to understand that buying the Star Wars Lando #1 Alex Ross variant for $240 is a big gamble. There better be a good reason to buy a comic that literally came off the presses a few days ago and is being bought for $240. Yes the ratio factor, we get it, but better than that folks. That could have been $240 spent on a Bronze Age book that would have been a better way to go. If the Star Wars Lando #1 contains the introduction that warrants an aftermarket spike, then by all means buy a variant. It’s now when the speculator needs to figure out if this is a hyperbole or a true introduction that will pay dividends for years to come. It’s an easy task actually because if the market is hot, sell it. If you make a 35% or a 233% profit, you still make money on it. Move along. Never worry about what could have been, how much more you could have made. You made profit, move on. It’s the greed and love that kills. The speculator who holds on for an extra dollar, the market passes them by, the speculator that falls in love and can’t let go of their comic, those are the ones that lose. We’re on topic of the Star Wars Lando #1 variants more so than the Archie #1 variants because at least 24 or so of the Archie variants are cover price. Like an Archie cover, buy it, done. The Lando books are priced more on different levels. So with Archie #1 you have an all new start, an all new look, new all-star creators, and onward we go! This relaunch will pertain to anything Archie regarding the film or television market Archie Comics has spoken about for a couple of years now. Archie #1 is the beginnings of it all from here on out. If Archie is a hit on the big screen or television, which it will be, look for the vibe to be directly taken from the new direction of the company. Viewers will not see the campy Archie or Jughead, they’ll witness hipster style Archie and Jughead. Watch as Archie #1 literally comes to life in time. The uniqueness will carry Archie #1 because of its banking on breaking it to film or television the way it’s storytelling and edgy looks go. If there is an introduction of any kind and that comes to fruition via film or TV, then you really have a winner on your hands. Archie #1 will have more upside than Star Wars Lando #1 if both have solid storytelling and no introductions. Lando gets the edge with an introduction……for now. Be smart, pay attention to the market.

One more thing, if you’re a Lando fan. His first COMIC BOOK appearance (not magazine/graphic novel) was in Star Wars #43 (1981). It also happens to be the second appearance of Boba Fett.

It looks like our friends at Creature Entertainment have another hit on their hands. The Gun #1 from writer John Ulloa and artist Jose Varese looks like a solid offering. Both the regular cover and the Juan Navarro variant is sold out!

Image Comics reaches back into the vault this week. Rob Liefeld is back with Bloodstrike #1. Let the fun begin! And please refrain from the insults of Rob’s talent here on the site or on any of the InvestComics social media outlets. Seriously. You bought his Deadpool, X-Force, etc books back in the 90’s if you’re old enough to remember, right? You continue to insult? Can you do any better? Honestly? If so, why are you not a wealthy comic book creator yourself then? Stop it already, following everyone’s recourse of insults because you want to “fit in” is not the way to go anymore. You’re not breaking ground by insulting Rob Liefeld. Time to realize he’s created some neat characters (Deadpool and Cable) and right the ship to a better way then trying to bully just because you feel it’s your right. It’s not. Don’t like it? Change the channel, don’t buy it, move on. Get a hold of yourself. We’re talking about comic books here, relax.

New villains Killer Mimes are introduced in Red Hood Arsenal #2. 1872 #1 from Marvel Comics gives readers a very different take on things. Sheriff Steve Rogers leads the charge in this town called Timely. Interesting take indeed. Starfire #2 looks to continue its success, the variant is sold out as is the Spider-Verse #3 Phil Noto Incentive variant. Spider-Island #1 will be a good read. Titans Comics; Home #1 and Minions #2 are both sold out. Tomorrows #1 (Dark Horse) with artist Jason Copland is one to check out.

Strange Fruit #1 from Boom Studios. Writers J.G. Jones and Mark Waid, with art from J.G. Jones. This extremely profound story regarding racism and human exploration is a must read from these two all-star creators.

Deadpool meets Deathstroke

Click To Buy/Bid Superman/Batman Annual #1 Deathstroke meets Deadpool

InvestComics Checklist – Deathstroke.

Since the inception of InvestComics 10+ years ago, we have informed speculators about Deathstroke. At that time, following InvestComics’ guidance, the first appearance of Deathstroke could cost been a mere $45 for a collector. Now it’s a bit more, but you still may have some upside. Yes he’s already been exposed into the WB Arrow televison show world, but this character still has yet to make it to one more place; the big screen. And he will eventually. When he does, that first appearance with double/triple in value. He’s Marvel’s Deadpool/Punisher rolled into one. The assassin for hire is a total bad as* and DC Comics knows this. The explosiveness of this character brings nothing like DC has on film anywhere. Marvel already has, DC doesn’t. A Deathstroke on the big screen would be a hit. It’s already a hit on Arrow, but television doesn’t always translate to the speculative point in the comics market. Movies usually have a higher impact. Although pricing is a bit high in various places for Deathstroke’s first appearance, it’s still a buy. As a speculator, do your research and your shopping around. The moment you feel you have a deal, go in for the kill and buy it. You’ll be happy you did.

Below is a checklist of many first appearances and more regarding Deathstroke. If this character ever gets his due, look for some of the books in this list to command attention in the aftermarket.

Remember to click any RED links or comic cover to buy/bid the comic you want on Ebay. Don’t worry if you click a link or comic cover, you won’t lose your place. The click will open a new window for you on a new page, thus saving your spot.

Some Key Deathstroke comics:

The New Teen Titans #2 (1980) The first appearance of Deathstroke. Art by George Perez, cover by George Perez and written by Marv Wolfman. A classic comic and still a bull market here.

The New Teen Titans #9 (1981) Deathstroke didn’t come back for his second appearance until 7 issues later. An extremely undervalued book here.

Tales of the Teen Titans #44 (1984) Part 3 of the Judas contract. This timeless comic features the first appearance of Nightwing and an early appearance of Deathstroke. Classic Perez cover.

Crisis on Infinite Earths #5 (1985) Another timeless classic here. It wasn’t until the fifth issue of this amazingly awesome story we saw an appearance of Deathstroke. George Perez/Marv Wolfman.
